Manifesto

This is a curation, not a catalogue.

Weomy is a small board of independent online stores, picked one at a time. Nothing is listed because it paid to be. Nothing is listed because an algorithm scored it. Every store is here for one reason: we liked it.

01

Chosen the slow way.

Liking a store isn’t a feeling we trust on sight. We read the independent reviews — the long, unpaid, slightly obsessive ones. We write to founders and ask how things are made, who makes them, and what happens when something breaks. And we mystery-shop: we order under our own names, wait for the parcel like anyone else, unbox it, and occasionally send it back just to see how that goes.

If, at the end of all that, we’d order again — the store goes on the board.

No submission fees, no sponsored slots, no affiliate maths deciding what you see. A store can’t buy its way in, and we can’t be talked into keeping one we’ve stopped believing in.

02

Discovery before everything.

The best moment this site can give you is finding a store you didn’t know existed — and losing an evening to it. The web made every storefront reachable and almost none of them findable; the good ones sit three pages behind whoever bought the ad. We’d like finding them to stop being an accident.

03

Against the flat web.

Ecommerce is flattening into a handful of warehouses. Same products, same photos, same three-day promise. Temu and Amazon are extraordinary at being enormous, and terrible at being anyone in particular.

Independent stores are where taste still lives: someone’s stubborn opinion about what is worth selling, packed and shipped by people with names. Keeping them findable is our small act against the flattening.

If it’s on the board, we’d buy from it. That’s the whole editorial policy.
